The Power Suit

The Power Suit...

It's been a year since I've blogged. I apologize if my writing is a bit rusty... In case you're a new reader (or a returning one).

Ever since I've started blogging 2 years ago, I tried very hard to fit the "cool" blogger mold with perfect snaps of high-end brand lifestyle, that I couldn't afford to own, and matcha lattes that my wallet definitely could not afford. However, as the time went on I realized that this type of life didn't make me particularly happy or fulfilled. It simply wasn't on brand with who I was as a person and there was nothing I could do about it.

Instead of combining who I was and fashion. I did the opposite...I tried to be someone I was not. I am really just a dorky girl who can spend 8 hours reading in Barnes & Noble, lives in a *tiny studio in the East Village, loves $1 pizza, dancing while cleaning, Trader Joes Wine, and thrifting.

At the time, I lost the motivation to keep going and putting out content that seemed to stick but didn't really get my fire going creatively. The lesson I learned: you absolutely HAVE to be passionate about what you're doing. That's final. With that burning passion you have the perseverance to not only keep going but to offer something positive beyond just pretty photos to those interacting with your content.

I realized that for me to pick blogging back up again it would have to be a real representation of who I was and my life at it's current stage (broke and on a budget but making it work). So, in the future expect many more Thrift and affordable fashion posts to come, I am thinking of doing a weekly #thrifthaul post or video of at least a few looks a week, let me know if that's something you'd like to see!

PS: This suit ensemble is available at Zara and you can also get it online or in stores (they might have some colors sold out due to the sale, I’d say go to the store just to be safe!) here are links for pants + jacket
